Susan (Norsen) Twitchell

August 7, 1954 – September 25,2026

Susan (Norsen) Twitchell, of Clifton Springs, New York, was a woman who loved fiercely, spoke her mind, and held her family together with a strength that could never be replaced.Susan was the queen of the castle, the captain of the ship, and the heart of her family. She was never one to sugarcoat things, and if she yelled at you for doing something dumb, chances are it was because she loved you. 

She told it like it was, whether you wanted to hear it or not, and looking back, she was rarely wrong.

Above all else, Susan loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, and there was nothing more important to her than the people she loved. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, even the ones who weren’t technically hers. Just ask Jesse, the kid who came over to spend the night and simply never left.

When she wasn’t keeping everyone in line, Susan enjoyed getting lost in a good book, spending time with her loved ones, and showing off her skills at the firing range. Anyone who ever watched her shoot skeet knew she was not a woman to be underestimated.One of her greatest joys was traveling across the country by motorcycle with her husband and the love of her life of 37 years, Scott, and their best friends. Together, they shared countless miles, adventures, laughter, and memories. Those open roads and the life they built together were a beautiful part of her story.

Susan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 37 years, Scott Twitchell, her parents, Gordon and Shirley Norsen and her sister Jody Chiodo. 

She leaves behind her children, Nicole Kemp , Bobby Kemp, Ben Twitchell and Katie Twitchell, along with Jesse and Amanda Buckland, who became family in the most Susan way possible.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kieanna, Mekhi, Bobby, Reagan, and Aubrey; her precious great-grandchildren, Lyric, Luna, Harley, Mylo, and Ja’Marre; her siblings, Mike (Donna) Norsen and Kim (Perry) Adams; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a few very good friends who held a special place in her heart.

Susan leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love, her lessons, her strength, and probably a little bit of her attitude.

Our world will never be the same without her. 

There will be an emptiness in the places she once filled, a silence where her voice should be, and countless moments when we will wish we could hear her tell us just one more time exactly what she thinks.

She was our queen, our captain, our home.And while we must learn to navigate this world without her at the helm, we will carry everything she taught us into every chapter that comes next.

In accordance with Susan’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services.

We love you, Mom. The ship won’t sail quite the same without you.
